Investing in the Next Generation of Women Leaders: JK Creative Sponsors an ATHENA NextGen Seat

At JK Creative, we believe that investing in people is one of the most powerful things a business can do. That belief is at the core of everything we create, every client we serve, and every community effort we support. This year, we are proud to take that belief a step further by sponsoring a seat in the ATHENA NextGen Thought Leadership Series for an emerging woman leader here in Central Florida.

About ATHENA NextGen

The ATHENA NextGen Thought Leadership Series is the only professional development and leadership training program of its kind in Central Florida. Offered through ATHENA Orlando Women's Leadership, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the program is built around eight sessions, each one anchored to a principle from the ATHENA Leadership Model: Live Authentically, Learn Constantly, Advocate Fiercely, Act Courageously, Foster Collaboration, Build Relationships, Give Back, and Celebrate.

Each session is facilitated by established women leaders in the Orlando community who have reached the top of their fields and are deeply committed to lifting others as they climb. Participants come from a wide range of industries, backgrounds, and career stages, making the experience as rich in perspective as it is in practical leadership development.

For a women-owned business like JK Creative, supporting a program dedicated to developing the next generation of women leaders is not just a natural fit. It is a responsibility we take seriously.

Introducing Our Sponsorship Recipient

This year, we are proud to sponsor Peyton Whittington, Development and Communications Manager at the Adult Literacy League. Peyton stood out to us because her work sits at the intersection of two things we deeply believe in: the power of communication and the importance of community.

As a design and communications agency, we know firsthand how transformative it is when storytelling is done with intention and skill. Peyton brings exactly that to her work every day, using her background in journalism to amplify the voices of the adults the Adult Literacy League serves. Supporting her path through ATHENA NextGen felt like a natural extension of our own values.

Meet Peyton Whittington

Peyton is a 27-year-old nonprofit development professional with a passion for using the power of story to change the world. A graduate of the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications, she brings the discipline and empathy of a trained journalist to her work at the Adult Literacy League, telling the stories of their students with purpose and care.

The Adult Literacy League is a Central Florida nonprofit that has been teaching adults functioning at the lowest levels of literacy how to read, write, and speak English since 1968. The work Peyton does on their behalf serves nearly 1,500 students and their families each year.

Her background in communications, her dedication to nonprofit service, and her clear commitment to community impact made her the right choice. We could not be more excited to support her journey through ATHENA NextGen.

"

Opportunities for personal and professional development mean the world to me because I know that when I better myself, it isn't just for my benefit. It's for the almost 1,500 students we serve each year at the Adult Literacy League and their families. I have wanted to attend ATHENA NextGen for so long, and I trust this experience will make me a better leader, storyteller, and community servant for the good of all of Central Florida. Thank you to JK Creative for investing in me and our beloved community as a whole.

A Community Worth Investing In

We founded JK Creative on the belief that great design and smart strategy can make a real difference for businesses and organizations of all sizes. Over the years, that belief has extended beyond our client work and into the communities we are proud to be part of here in Orlando.

Offering a sponsored seat in ATHENA NextGen is one more way we are putting that belief into practice. We look forward to following Peyton's experience through the program and hearing everything she brings back from it.
